JOB ESSENTIALS
If
you find a role that you would like to apply for, take
note of the following:
-
Read the posting carefully and follow any specified
guidelines on how to apply.
- Film
companies and casting directors often receive hundreds
of applications so ensure that you send only a brief
covering letter with any requested materials (show
reels, photographs, CV). Also mention that you have
a profile online at Screen Fighters!
- Only
apply for jobs that you are capable of and are available
to undertake.
-
If you are offered a role, make a point of finding
out all the relevant information, such as fee, whether
expenses are covered, nature of the project, shooting
schedule and details of contracts etc.
-
Note that some jobs are for small independent companies
who may only be able to pay minimal expenses. It’s
up to you whether to take these roles on but they
could provide you with some decent footage for your
show reel and extra experience which you can add to
your performer profile!
-
If you are unsure of any detail, especially concerning
contractual agreements, seek independent advice. A
good source of help is through your regional film
board, or if you are registered with Equity, consult
them for specific advice.
